No subtlety int the title here, we’re going full speed into the “Cold Calling Is Dead” debate. Based on a post from friend of the show Connie Kadansky, in the Speaking of Sales group on Facebook, she and others say that Cold Calling is still alive and well – I disagree, vehemently. We first define the term of cold calling and why I think it’s toast. The short version is spending the time to do things right will prevent you from having to cold call.

Hey guys, I was just listening to this podcast and Conrey’s vehement hate for cold calling (all great points, by the way). But I’m wondering why you think cold emails are different? I’m not disagreeing, just wondering about the thought process behind it. Is it because cold calling is disruptive and the likelihood of catching someone is low, whereas email kills lots of birds with one stone and people can respond if/when they want to?
